Travel Information

Hunters fly into Regina International Airport (Code =YQR), where they are met by their guide.  Rental cars can be obtained at the airport terminal from major vendors at reasonable rates.  Your guide will direct you to your lodging at Craven.  Major airlines servicing Regina include Northwest Airlines www.nwa.com, Canadian Air, Air Canada, Air BC, and Westjet.

What to bring: Layered clothing.  Full length outer camouflage.  Insulated hip boots and/or waders for duck hunting.    Camera and binoculars.  A cooler to hold birds on the way home.  Cooler interior size 24"L X 14"W X 12"H will hold 6 geese or 14 ducks and estimated weight of 70 lbs.  Additional information can be provided upon request.

Weather:  Regina is known as Canada's "sunniest" capital.  Nevertheless, be prepared for cold weather during hunting season.

Guns: We recommend 12-gauge (or 10 gauge) for ducks and geese.  In case of malfunction, spare guns are available.  Most shooting will be done at close range.   Upon entering Saskatchewan, declare firearms at customs (800-461-9999 or 306-780-6223). Your choice of ammunition can be purchased at Silver Creek if prearranged.

Harvested birds may be processed and packaged for your trip home or donated to local charities.  Outstanding specimens may be mounted by an excellent local taxidermist.  Alternatively, a unique etching by artist Jack Cowin can be commissioned.
